"The story of Bone is the type of story that you could share with anyone of all ages. It manages to be acceptable for a younger audience without have to talk down to the reader."

Over the last few years, Bone has been on my mind, but I never really gave it a chance. Then I recently made a trip to my local library. While at the library, I noticed that, Bone Vol. 1: Out From Boneville, was available. I decided that I wanted to check out this book. Was it any good?

Phoncible Bone has just been kicked out of Boneville, after a few bad choices. Joining him on this journey are his cousins, Fone and Smiley Bone. After getting separated from his cousins by a swarm of locusts, Fone Bone begins to search for his cousins. Yet, unkown to Fone Bone, an evil force searches for one of his cousins.

The story of Bone is the type of story that you could share with anyone of all ages. It manages to be acceptable for a younger audience without have to talk down to the reader. There also seems to be a disney vibe laced within the story. It also captures the feeling that someone feels when they leave home for the first time. Bone features light-hearted humor which you may or may not like. And to top it all off, the art complements the story well. Bone's only problem is that it has a random event or two.

Overall, Bone is excellent for the entire family. Readers of all ages can fall in love with the places, characters, and overall charm of the book. It may feature a random event or two, but it still manages to keep you in the world the writer has created. This graphic novel receives 4.5* out of 5*
