Months ago, Brian Azzarello writing Superman was big. What was even bigger was that Jim Lee was drawing Superman.
Today, Superman has not been a solid comic. However, when I picked this comic up, would it be good?
A giant water-based creature is attacking Metropolis. So Superman attempts to defeat it. However, there is more to this
monster than meets the eye. And away from the battle, a mysterious stranger is involved.
For those of you who like action-packed comics, this is for you. Let's not forget the great pencils of Jim Lee, who does
a great job. He manages to portray the action and the more relaxed moments well.
With great art, however, the writing seems to be a little weak. Brian Azzarello doesn't seem to put together a captivating
story here. What's worse is that the story feels as though it could be told in a few less pages.
Overall, Superman feels bland. There is some great art in this comic, but the writing doesn't seem to match the art.
Hopefully, Azzarello might have something up his sleeve. This comic receives 3* out of 5*
