"Once again, Mystique is still a fun read."

As you may know, it has been a long time since I've reviewed Mystique. So, when this is supposed to be the big story arc for this title, I knew a review would pop up. So, how does Mystique fare?

From the end of the last issue, Mystique has now confronted the Quiet Man. With the offer on the table, Mystique must choose to join him or Xavier. Meanwhile, with Shortpack missing, professor Xavier sends Forge and Mystique after him.

First off, Mystique continues to deliver nice action scenes with some nice dialogue to boot. It is not the best from McKeever, but it gets the job done. Complementing McKeever's script are the awesome pencils of Manuel García.

On the downside, there is a question concerning why Fantomex is in this comic. Wasn't he supposed to be dead? To add to the problems of this comic, The ending comes off in a way that hampers the ending.

Once again, Mystique is still a fun read. With plenty of great art and dialogue, Mystique stands on it's own. However, some plot and pacing problems keep this from becoming a great read. This comic receives 4* out of 5*.
